[The Science Behind] Aromeo Antiviral Hand Sanitiser

About Aromeo Antiviral Toxic-Free Hand Sanitiser

All-Natural and Toxic-Free Formulation

Aromeo Diffuser would like to offer great quality products that are free of toxic materials and made from natural ingredients. This Antiviral Toxic-Free Hand Sanitiser synergizes alcohol, essential oils, and aloe vera in combating viruses and bacteria.

Antimicrobial 1: 70% Alcohol

Why 70% alcohol, instead of including as high alcohol content as possible? At 70% concentration, the alcohol effectively denatures the protein in cell membranes of microorganisms. The ~30% content of distilled water slows evaporation of the alcohol, which increases contact time with the pathogens.
If the concentration of alcohol drops too low (e.g. <50%), it is not effective to disinfect. If the concentration is too high (e.g. >90%), the contact time is too short, which also lowers effectiveness.

Antimicrobial 2: Essential Oil

Sweet Verbena or Lemon myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) essential oil has proven antimicrobial activity against microorganisms including Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans, methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA), Aspergillus niger, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Propionibacterium acnes.

Antimicrobial 3: Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe has been traditionally used to treat skin wounds such as cuts or burns, because of its healing properties. Aloe also contains anthraquinones, a class of compounds that is under investigation for its antiviral activity.
